The estate of Michael Jackson has decided to renew its deal with music rights management giant BMI. The company announced Wednesday that the estate has agreed to continue with the long-standing deal giving them management of a portion of the King of Pop’s massive catalog. BMI retains representation of all public performances of the late superstar’s songs. BMI President Mike O’Neill says in a statement that the company is “honored” to continue its partnership with the Jackson estate, which first started back in 1976.
