Indy’s east side will be a-buzz with excitement as Martin University celebrates it’s “Homecoming 2014” events. Indiana’s only predominantly black college or university has a full week of activities planned to celebrate the rich history of the school, higher education and its service to the Indianapolis community. Nestled in the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood the school dates back to 1977 and currently serves 400 enrolled students.
This year’s homecoming is themed “We Are All Family” and runs from Monday, Oct. 26 through Saturday, Nov. 1. Events include a president’s breakfast, street renaming dedication, gospel concert, a spoken word and art show, theatre night, family fun night, a career fair and more.
The current president of Martin University is Dr. Eugene White.
