President Barack Obama had pretty funny encounter with a couple of early voters Monday morning at his polling place in Chicago.

The president cast his ballot with the usual fanfare and sounds of cameras, but what happened when he stood next to fellow voter Aia Cooper was not expected.

As he walked past the president’s voting booth, Mike Jones, (Cooper’s boyfriend), told Obama,

“don’t touch my girlfriend.”

“I said, I know you’re Mr. President, but don’t touch my girlfriend,” Jones said afterward.

Yep, Jones teased the president.

“I really wasn’t planning on it,” Obama replied, joking that Jones was “an example of a brother just embarrassing you for no reason.”

A clearly embarrassed Cooper apologized for her boyfriend, telling the President she knew her boyfriend was going to “say something smart,” but she didn’t know what.

At least she would go back home with a good story as Obama joked that she would tell her friends and family, “I can’t believe Mike, he is such a fool.”
