Ryan Murphy is setting his sights on OJ Simpson as the first subject for his new companion series for “American Horror Story.” FX has picked up Murphy’s “American Crime Story,” which, like “American Horror Story,” will be delivered in a mini-series format with separate storylines in follow up seasons. True crime stories will be the focus of the new series. Screen Crush says Murphy’s first offering:“American Crime Story: The People Vs. O.J. Simpson,” will follow the former football star’s infamous murder trial based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book “The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson.” No word yet on casting or a premiere date.
