Warren Moore, the Senior Director of Operations talks about Wal-Mart’s new program, ‘Healthcare Begins Here’, weekend that will bring 1700 Medicare plans to the popular retailer.

“Over the last several years, we’ve had insurance agents at our stores, doing Medicare open enrollment to help customers and patients secure the right health care.

Our customers told us they wanted more options for more than one insurer, so we’re enhancing our program and our partnership with Directhealth.com, we’re going to have independent licensed agents in our stores that will allow people to navigate and select over 1700 Medicare plans from 12 of the national providers.”

Wal-Mart is hosting a health fair at their stores Saturday October 11 from 12-4, where customers can get blood pressure, glucose and vision screenings. Registered Wal-Mart pharmacists will be on hand to provide immunizations, sign up for health care and get other health assessments.

Moore is uniquely qualified for his job – he’s a former pharmacist who moved into the Wal-Mart ranks from the pharmacy department and he’s married to a Wal-Mart pharmacist.

Tom Joyner will be at the Dallas store off Northwest Highway and  Skillman at 6165 Retail Drive to support the national ‘Healthcare Begins Here’ effort.
