The 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards - Salute To Icons Honoring David Geffen - Inside

Lifetime is catching some heat for their upcoming Whitney Houston biopic. According to TMZ, the Houston family are upset about network’s plans to make a TV movie about the late legendary singer’s life, claiming that Whitney is simply too big of a star for the small screen.

“The Houston estate is so upset they’re considering a lawsuit to block production. We’re told the family has already expressed displeasure to Lifetime and made it clear they weren’t on board with a TV movie,” sources close to the Houston family revealed to TMZ.

“The estate is planning its own movie for the big screen — a la the This is It Michael Jackson flick,” their source continued.

“Whitney is certainly worthy of more than a television movie. If Whitney were here today, this would not be happening,” said Whitney’s sister-in-law Pat Houston when asked about theAngela Basset directed production.
