The faith community is uniting Thursday as Easter approaches at a prayer vigil to ask for and encourage peace in the Indianapolis Community.

Police chief Rick Hite and Public Safety Director Troy Riggs have asked for more involvement from churches to address the rising homicide rates in the city and the violent crime that has many neighborhoods gripped in fear. So, Light of the World Church and St. Luke’s United Methodist Church have joined forces invited ministers, clergy, rabbis and more faith leaders from multiple faiths and denominations to stand with them in prayer, united as one.

The prayer vigil will be at the Indiana War Memorial downtown, 431 North Meridian Street, beginning at Noon.
