Isaiah Washington has produced a film that stars Academy Award winning Mo’Nique and new comer Julian Walker.

BlackBird” will actually close PAFF on the Feb. 16 (tomorrow).  The plot consists of a troubled teen growing up in a conservative Mississippi town that “comes out” on more levels than one, Washington explains.

“It explores the love between two human beings who happen to be men, taboos in the black church, teenage pregnancy and suicide, politics around abortion, conservatism in the South, child abduction; it takes on multiple themes,” Washington explained.

“Regardless of what you think you know about me, as a producer for the people, my work speaks for itself to get us WALKING again, because we stopped walking.”
