Keyshia Cole has been added to the long (and growing) list of celebrities with tax woes. The “I Remember” singer got tapped by the IRS for failing to pay her taxes totaling $162,158.93 back in 2009. She apparently owes the money from profits she made during her first headline tour A Different Me. Well-known artists like TLC, The Dream and Lil Kim opened up for her.
Now, the IRS threatens to seize her property if she doesn’t pay up.
“We have made a demand for payment of this liability, but it remains unpaid.Therefore, there is a lien in favor of the United States on all property and rights to property belonging to this taxpayer for the amount of the taxes and additional penalties, interest and costs that may accrue.”
A lien was filed against Keyshia in November of 2013.
Lauryn Hill, Wesley Snipes and Eve are just some of the celebrities who have made headlines for owing back taxes.
