Good morning on this last day of school before Christmas holiday break!

“Missing” Child Found

Frankfort Police say they’ve located 4-year-old Brennon Linscott. Apparently the child was not really missing or in any danger. Linscott had been reported missing around 2 a.m. Friday morning with the story he was last seen at the Speedway gas station in Frankfort sleeping on the backseat of his dad’s truck. Fox 59 says the boy’s father told police he forgot he dropped his son off at a friend’s house Thursday night. Police found the child at the friend’s house safe and sound.  They are asking the dad more questions.

Two Shot, One Killed in City

One person is dead and another is injured following a shooting on the city’s northwest side.  Investigators say two people were inside a car driving on Harding Street on Thursday night and a third person was running alongside the car

shooting at them.  The driver of the car was shot and crashed the vehicle.  He died at the scene.  The third man was found in a nearby alley with multiple gunshot wounds. He’s listed in critical condition and police are questioning him.

Mowing Deal Linked To Indy Land Bank Scheme

More charges are being filed in a corruption scandal involving the Indy Land Bank. Federal prosecutors say Reginald Walton used his position with the city to award a lawn mowing contract to Mark Harsley in exchange for kickbacks.  The Indy Land Bank is a program. that buys abandoned and tax delinquent properties to sell to non-profits and developers to rebuild Indianapolis neighborhoods. Walton and four others were charged with wire fraud and bribery earlier this year in a separate kickback scheme.

Ball State Buildings Evacuated

The daily routine is back to normal at Ball State University. A gas leak at the football stadium forced an evacuation at two buildings Thursday. Officials do not know what caused the leak but no injuries were reported.

Crime Investigation Underway at Butler

Butler University is investigating an alleged rape of one of its tour guides by one of her fellow student ambassadors, this according to the Indianapolis Star. The incident allegedly happened earlier this month after an off campus party for the student ambassadors. A female student told police she accompanied a 23-year-old man that she met at that event to his apartment near Hinkle Fieldhouse to check on his dog. It was there that she says the sex act took place. The young woman was treated at St. Vincent Hospital. Butler and its police department are investigating. So far no arrests have been made.

Basketball Stars Help Kids In Hospital

Several basketball standouts are reaching out to touch some lives during the holidays. Hoosier native JaQuan Lyle and teammates became Santa’s helpers on Thursday. They delivered basketballs, toy cars and trucks to pediatric patients at Community Hospital North in Indy. Lyle said, “It’s just putting a smile on kids’ faces.”

If you’re a Target shopper here in Indy, you’re being warned to check your billing statements from the store. Thieves have stolen data from credit card machines at Target stores across the nation. It’s now confirmed. Here’s what those cyber criminals got in the credit and debit card breach–customer addresses, birthdates, and Social Security numbers.

Stores Extending Hours For Shoppers

If you still have Christmas shopping to do, several stores are extending their hours.  Simon Malls will be open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. until December 23rd and from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.  Once Kohl’s opens its doors at 6 a.m. today, they will stay open for 111-hours.  Toys R Us will open at 6 a.m. on Saturday and stay open for 87-hours.

INDY WEATHER:  Flood Watch In Effect This Weekend

Get your high waders ready…A Flood Watch is in effect for Central Indiana this weekend. The National Weather Service says several inches of rain could fall in Indianapolis and will mix with the melting snow. Temperatures will also be above normal.  Today the rain begins and the high will be 59.


It doesn’t get any easier for the Pacers tonight as they host the Rockets.  Indiana has dropped two in-a-row, its longest losing streak of the season. Danny Granger is expected to return after missing 25 games for a left calf strain.  Tipoff is at 8 p.m.
