Another day, another Tyler Perry/Madea boycott. With the recent success of Black films like Best Man Holiday (which has earned $43.1 million in the box office so far) and Lee Daniels’ The Butler, an online petition has been launched in attempt to stop moviegoers from supporting Tyler’s Perry upcoming film A Madea Christmas, which hits theaters December 13.

According to Uptown Magazine , the petition is an “attempt to get Hollywood to green-light more high-brow Black films.”

Ok now, this sounds a little bourgeoisie to me. If I’m not mistaken, everyone has a Madea in their family. But we all know Tyler Perry has faced this type of hate before when he cast Kim Kardashian in his Temptation movie. Will you be going to support Madea this Christmas?
