Despite the, many jams Robin Thicke has had over the years, including when he was just going by the stage name Thicke, you would be surprised to know that the blue-eyed soul singer has never snagged a Billboard number one hit. That’s until now.

He’s been in the business since 1994 and almost 20 years later, he’s picked up his first number one hit with the song “Blurred Lines” featuring Pharrell and T.I. The song went from number six on the charts to number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and is in the top spot for digital songs. The song has passed more than 1 million downloads sold, which is also Thicke’s first song to move more than a million units. “Lost Without U” was close to doing so, selling more than 946,000, and it’s his second biggest hit.

Guess it finally makes sense why he decided to back out of Real Husbands of Hollywood now: “The thing was, I was gonna do the new season and then this song started taking off. I didn’t have the time to do the new season. I had to get this album. It was fun just to do it like once. Then you start to repeat story lines, repeating jokes.”

Thicke will use the momentum he’s built with the very well-received track by releasing his sixth studio album, coincidentally titled Blurred Lines, on July 30. Congrats to all three men, but especially Thicke on such a big milestone for him. Get to the money!
