Heat and Severe Weather Headed for Indianapolis

It will be the hottest day of the year at 91 degrees and then tonight we are under a “likely” chance for severe weather, with straight line winds between 70 and 100 mph and even the chance for possible isolated tornadoes. The storms will roll in when a lot of us are sleeping, between 8pm Wednesday and 1am.

Missing Girl Died of Asphyxia

The preliminary cause of death for Katelyn Wolfe, the 19 year old woman who had been missing since last week and whose body was discovered Monday has been released.

An autopsy showed that Wolfe died from asphyxia. Police arrested 26 year old Jordan Buskirk, and 25 year old Randall Crosley, in connection with Wolfe’s death.

Wolfe’s father and stepmother said those two men had been with her in the hours before her death.

Her father also said he doesn’t believe the two men meant to kill his daughter, but he did not say why.

 

Indianapolis Republicans Accused of Gifts for Votes

Marion County Republicans are accused of buying votes at last weekend’s Indy Pride Festival.  A group of gay and lesbian Democrats say the GOP enticed people to register to vote with a chance to win a 32-inch television.  Officials with the Marion County Republicans say the raffle had nothing to do with voting or voter registration.

 

Mother Facing Neglect Charges After Child Nearly Drowns

A mother is facing neglect charges after her two-year-old daughter nearly drowned at a community pool.  The little girl fell into the water at the Windsor Park Apartments on Monday, but was rescued by a girl swimming with her family.  Once police found 17-year-old Jevona Starks, she was arrested and the child was put in the care of CPS.
