Woman Attacked on Bloomington Walking Trail
Bloomington Police have increased patrols of the popular B-Line Trail walking trail after a woman was assaulted while rollerblading on Sunday.
A 23-year-old woman told police she was skating on the trail when a man tackled her, hit her several times and started pulling at her clothes.
A witness with a cellphone scared off the attacker and called for help.
Police plan to have more officers on foot, bikes and on four wheels.
Bloomington Police say this weekend’s assault is the first of this kind on the trail.
Indiana Reports two cases of E. coli
Indiana Health officials say the state has two cases of E. coli poisoning from contaminated food that’s been recalled.
The Department of Health says Rich Products Corp. is recalling items including mini frozen pizzas, mozzarella bites and mini quesadillas. They were sold under brand names including Farm Rich and Market Day, with “Best by” dates ranging from January 1, 2013 to September 29, 2014.
Human Remains Found in West Side Home
IMPD is investigating human remains found inside a west side house. Officials say the Haughville home was purchased by two men at an auction and they were working on renovations when they found the body in the basement.
Police are looking at missing-persons reports and working with the coroner to try to identify the person.
Runaway Truck Driver Was on Spice
Police say the truck driver that led officers on a chase Monday night was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. A state trooper tried to pull the James Foster over on I-70 near Sam Jones Expressway, but the he didn’t stop until officers used stop sticks at the south split. Foster was on spice at the time of the incident.
Indiana Fever Giving Away Championship Rings
The Indiana Fever is giving away replicas of their championship ring. Team officials say every fan that attends the home opener on May 31st will get one.
The 2012 WNBA championship banner will also be raised at the game.
3 North Central Students Facing Charges.
Three North Central High School students are facing charges for attacking six other students with pepper spray. Police say the group was targeted Monday because of comments made on Twitter following a previous fight.
The three students arrested also had makeshift weapons, including a sock with a metal weight in the end.
