Chris Rock is joining the cast of “The Real Husbands of Hollywood,” replacing Robin Thicke for the second season of BET’s acclaimed reality show parody. HipHollywood exclusively reported the news.

The show, which stars and is produced by comedian Kevin Hart, has been a ratings and critical hit for BET ever since debuting in January. Alongside Hart, the regular cast of the show includes J.B. Smoove, Nick Cannon, Boris Kodjoe and Duane Martin as comedic counterparts to the successful “Real Housewives” franchises. Anthony Anderson will also be joining the cast of the show this season.

“I just watched the show and it just seemed like they were having so much fun. I said, ‘I want to have fun,'” Rock said. He recently shared a stage with Hart at the now-infamous Comedy Cellar show in February, in which Rock, Hart, Dave Chappelle, Bill Bellamy and Marlon Wayans unexpectedly performed a set that sparked rumors of a Rock/Chappelle stand-up tour.

Rock is also currently directing a feature film produced by Scott Rudin and Barry Diller, and recently mentioned on The Champs that he is working on a new comedy special, although has not yet decided how and when to sell the special. He also executive produces the FX show “Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell,” which will soon move to five nights a week on FX.
