Jamie Foxx isn’t the only one excited about potentially playing Electro in the upcoming “The Amazing Spider-Man” sequel.

The actor confirmed to Access Hollywood that his casting in the upcoming movie is “in the works,” and said his young daughter will be over the moon if he lands the role of the voltage-wielding villain.

“I have a little daughter, 4 years old, and what’s crazy is like, this past year she had a birthday where Spider-Man was the theme,” Jamie told Access at the GQ Men of the Year 2012 party in Los Angeles this week, when asked about his potential involvement in the Marc Webb-directed project. “Fingers crossed [that] it all works out.”

Jamie, who will next be seen on the big screen in Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained,” said he’s waiting until he gets the official casting word to share the news with daughter.

“I haven’t sprung it on her yet, but she will go crazy!” he said.

Earlier this month, Jamie took to Twitter to hint at the possible casting news.

“Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night,” he Tweeted on November 1. “Costume fits well.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, “The Descendants” star Shailene Woodley is also in talks to join the superhero sequel as Peter Parker’s (played by Andrew Garfield) ladylove, Mary Jane Watson.

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” sequel will swing into theaters on May 2, 2014.
