Peyton Manning has undoubtedly been the face of the Indianapolis Colts, and arguably until last year, the face of the NFL for many years. The four-time MVP may have peaked in his rehabilitation and the slow rate at which the nerves in his are are healing are leading some to speculate that his playing days are over.

We’ve been watching this develop here in Indianapolis for the last year, starting with the whole ‘Will he start?’ questions at the very beginning of training camp. Colts owner Jim Irsay faces a big decision concerning Manning’s future. Manning is due to collect a $28 million roster bonus if he is still with the team in March. Two league-affiliated doctors also said it could take a year before Manning even knows if he can return and said they would recommend Irsay release him.

There’s some folks in Indy that have been bracing for this for about a year. As March approaches, more major changes are likely ahead for our Indianapolis Colts.
