Here we are only three days into the new year and we already have recorded three homicides. The first happened less than 24 hours into the new year. Police were called just before 10:45pm Sunday on a report of a person shot outside the door of Legends Bar & Grill in the 8000 block of east 38th street.
When they arrived they found Terry Lisenby lying on the sidewalk suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. EMS checked Lisenby, and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Then, just overnight there were two more murders in our city. Last night around 11:30pm police were called to the Port-O-Call apartments on the west side on the report of a person shot. When they arrived they found a female in 20’s suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The woman was pronounced dead by EMS a short time later.
Police also received a call of several gunshots being fired early this morning around 2:30am Brighton Park Apartments around 79th and Township Line Road. On arrival Police found a man identified as Daryl Burkes shot outside an apartment building in the apartment complex.
