New Poll Show Americans Fear Great Depression
Close To Half Of Americans Say U.S. Nearing Great Depression
While President Obama recently said in a speech that he doesn’t fear a double-dip recession, the same doesn’t hold true for the American public.
In a new CNN poll, 48 percent of Americans not only fear a double-dip recession, but the second Great Depression. It is the highest percentage of respondents that have stated that level of certainty since CNN first asked the question in 2008. Respondents who feel they will soon become unemployed climbed to its highest ever at 30 percent.
The continuing dip in the country’s housing prices, and the decrease in public sector employment has Americans more pessimistic than ever.
