See this is why I love our First Lady Michelle Obama. She is setting a fashion example that could lead to overcrowded Goodwill stores during the weekend. Obama wore a second-hand dress to the “Christmas in Washington” concert that aired on TNT Friday evening. Described by the “New York Post” as a “couture” black-lace overlay frock, featuring a high, square neckline and full skirt, the dress was purchased at a second-hand store. The 1950s garment was created by American designer Norman Norelli, who died in 1972. So might the same or a similar dress be found at a local second hand clothing store anywhere in America? Probably not. New York Vintage where the dress was purchased wouldn’t divulge exactly what Obama paid but it’s estimated the second-hand clothes cost in the neighborhood of 25-hundred dollars.
