Babyface and Mike Epps Join Madam Walker Legacy Center Board
Two of Indy’s most beloved sons are coming home in a big way. The Madam Walker Legacy Center (MWLC) just announced that Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Mike Epps are the newest additions to its board of directors—and this move is as powerful as it is personal.

Board Chair Nichole Wilson shared, “We are thrilled to welcome Babyface and Mike Epps to the board. Their influence and commitment to Indianapolis will help us amplify our mission on a national scale.”
Babyface, a 13-time Grammy Award winner and Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, has deep Indy roots and a global legacy. In 2022, he headlined MWLC’s inaugural Legacy Fest—a celebration of music, culture, and entrepreneurship. His performance honored Madam C.J. Walker’s spirit while connecting generations through sound and storytelling.
Mike Epps, also born and raised in Indianapolis, continues to use his platform to uplift his hometown. In 2022, he filmed his Netflix comedy special Mike Epps: Indiana Mike at the historic Walker Theatre. He was also the first inductee into the Madam Walker Legacy Center Walk of Fame.
The Madam Walker Legacy Center is more than a building—it’s a movement grounded in Black excellence, community, and creativity. With Babyface and Mike Epps on board, MWLC is poised to expand its reach and preserve Madam Walker’s legacy through the arts, culture, and education.
Indianapolis, your icons are investing in legacy—and their impact will echo through generations.
