A New Mexico judge dismissed Alec Baldwin’s civil lawsuit alleging malicious prosecution in the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film “Rust.” The judge cited a lack of activity in the case as the reason for the dismissal. Baldwin had claimed he was the victim of overzealous prosecutors and law enforcement in the case. The lawsuit came after a judge dismissed an involuntary manslaughter charge against Baldwin due to withheld evidence. Baldwin’s attorney stated they are in settlement discussions and will refile the lawsuit if necessary.
