Ice Cube Tries to Save the World in First Trailer For ‘War of the Worlds’ Remake

In the upcoming re-imagining of H.G. Wells’ classic novel War of the Worlds, Ice Cube plays a top cyber-security analyst working for Homeland Security tracking potential threats to national security. The film, directed by Rich Lee, takes place largely on computer and smart phone screens, offering an immersive thriller experience. Cube’s character begins to question the government’s actions when faced with an unknown enemy attack, leading to a suspenseful narrative. Scheduled for release on Prime Video on July 30, the film also features Eva Longoria, Clark Gregg, and Andrea Savage in a modern adaptation of the humans vs. aliens tale.
