The Fix: Fever Wins, Real Love, and Ride-or-Die Friends
The Fever brought the heat and hope last night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Caitlin Clark lit it up with 20 points, Kelsey Mitchell added 17, finishing 88–71 win. It got spicy in the final seconds—three ejections and all—but that win locked the Fever into the Commissioner’s Cup and gave Pacers fans the energy boost we needed heading into Game 6. Right now, Gainbridge is feeling like the heartbeat of Indiana sports.
Now let’s talk love—Ashanti and Nelly are letting us into their journey on Nelly & Ashanti: We Belong Together, dropping June 26 on Peacock. In the trailer, they admit they “hated each other” before finding their way back. Sometimes love needs space, growth, and yes—therapy. Watching them choose love again with maturity? Whew. It’s giving grown-folk romance.
And Gabrielle Union just reminded us what real sisterhood looks like. She opened up about one of the darkest seasons in her life—and gave Tisha Campbell her flowers for being the one who showed up when it mattered most. Gabrielle said it best: “It’s one thing to have friends you party with, but it’s another to have someone who shows up when your life is on the line.” That’s the kind of love that saves lives.
That’s The Fix—keeping you plugged in with what’s real, what’s next, and what’s worth talking about. I’m Karen Vaughn.
