‘The Voice’ Contestant Janice Freeman Dies at 33; Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson Pay Tribute Season 13 contestant of The Voice, Janice Freeman has passed away. She died from an extreme case of pneumonia and a blood clot that traveled to her heart. Fans remember her inspiring story as she overcame cervical cancer and living with lupus. During her audition both Jennifer Hudson and Miley Cyrus turned their chairs around. She eventually joined Team Miley. In 2018 Janice revealed that Miley covered her expenses for 6 months when she fell on hard times. Miley took to Instagram and wrote, thank you Janice for everything. Jennifer Hudson wrote, the voice of hers we got to hear and the bit of life we got to watch her live was a blessing and an inspiration to us all.
