Good Day to You!!!

Dozens of people accused of having ties to a major drug enterprise are now facing charges. Officials say hundreds of law enforcement officers from collaborating agencies made more than 40 arrests on Thursday during a coordinated series of search warrants. They targeted an organization responsible for what’s being called “huge quantities” of meth and heroin. Officials say they seized 19-pounds of meth, along with 94 firearms and $85,000 cash. They called this crackdown “Operation Glass Houses.”

A community is mourning two children who lost their lives at the hands of their own mother. In that tragedy’s wake, investigators are looking to see if this Montgomery County mom, Brandi Worley, killed her two kids and stabbed herself in the neck because of an impending divorce. Officers in Darlington say Worley called 911 Thursday morning to say she’d just stabbed her kids to death—a seven-year-old son and three-year-old daughter. Investigators say Worley’s husband, who was asleep in the basement at the time, told her he wanted a divorce just the day before.

IMPD homicide detectives are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body found early Friday morning. The unidentified woman’s body was found just before 3:20 a.m., according to WTHR-TV, wrapped in a blanket behind trees and bushes in a vacant lot on East Washington Street near Oriental Avenue. The body showed signs of trauma. The investigation will try to determine how she died.

Police were also called to the far east side overnight–the scene of another grizzly discovery. An 18-year-old man was found dead in his car in the Teal Run Apartments near 25th Street and Mitthoeffer Road. This happened around 1:30 a.m Friday. IMPD doesn’t know how he died but they say they suspect foul play, according to various media reports.

A former Zionsville gymnastics coach is behind bars, facing child molestation charges. Kenneth Arnold was arrested Thursday and is being held without bond at the Boone County Jail. Arnold is accused of having improper contact with a student during practice while employed as a coach at InterActive Academy. An investigation was launched early this year after a parent filed a police report against him.

More IMPD officers are hitting the streets to keep holiday shoppers safe.  A police department spokesman says they’re expecting a big influx in people visiting area retailers, and that might entice some thieves. Police say you can reduce your risk of becoming a victim by never leaving anything valuable in your car where others can see it. You should also keep the doors to your house locked at all times.

Just over half of Indiana’s school kids passed both portions of the state’s ISTEP test. New numbers show 51-percent of students between third and eighth grade passed the test. Indiana struggled with this test that has become widely known for being problematic and flawed. State school officials say the scores won’t be used against local school districts. The test is on its way out. Students will take the ISTEP for the last time in the spring.

Sessions was the first U.S. senator to endorse Trump’s candidacy. Lieutenant General Michael Flynn is reportedly the President-elect’s choice to be his national security advisor. All three men have reportedly accepted their offers. Also this weekend, Trump is expected to meet with former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

A federal judge will hold a hearing today on whether to delay the trial of a lawsuit brought against Trump University. Former students claim they were duped into paying up to $35,000 to attend the “university”, and were misled to believe that it was an accredited program. Lawyers for the President-elect say many students gave the real estate program positive ratings.  Last week, Trump’s lead attorney asked that the trial be delayed because the President-elect needs the time to get ready to take office between now and his inauguration on January 20. The judge encouraged both sides to settle the case last week. Court documents show the plaintiffs argued that Trump’s election does not change the legal standard for going forward with the case. As it stands now, the trial is scheduled to begin on November 28.

The New York Police Department and Secret Service will release details today about their security plan for Trump Tower. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio is holding a news conference about it this afternoon. It’s been widely reported that the Secret Service wants a more aggressive approach to guarding President-elect Trump’s penthouse home in Manhattan.
