Good day to you on this Halloween!

A day and night for princesses, superheroes, pumpkins and maybe even more creativity in dress up. Here in Indy, trick-or-treating hours are officially 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Metro Police will do extra patrols during those hours and IMPD officers will hand out candy at the roll calls at four of their district headquarters– North (3120 East 30th Street), Southeast (1150 S. Shelby Street), East (201 N. Shadeland Avenue) and Southwest (551 N. King Avenue). To keep your kids safe, police are reminding trick-or-treaters to wear light-colored clothing and to make sure they can see clearly through any mask that may be worn.

Also sex offenders in Marion County are to report-in for a special meeting from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to keep them away from children that will be out tonight en-masse in the neighborhoods.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office weighed-in on tonight’s trick or treating by offering some advice for parents. Spokesman Bryant Orem said to know where your kids are going, even if they’re teens. He also said parents should go to the Offender Watch Registry to check to see if there are any offenders in their neighborhood so they can be on guard. (Click the link above or for another registry, here.) Finally he says kids should not eat any of their treats until they get home so parents can inspect what they received to make sure that the treats haven’t been tampered with.

One person is dead following a hit-and-run on the city’s east side. Officials say a woman was struck early Sunday morning while walking near East 10th Street and Sadlier Drive. It was the city’s second deadly hit-and-run in 24-hours. Saturday night, a man was struck and killed near Lafayette Road and West 56th Street.

Today is the final day to register for a educational conversation with IPS Innovation School leaders. It’s called “Who’s Running Our Schools?” and is a presentation of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and the Mind Trust. It features three education leaders Shanae Staples, Nicole Fama, and Marijama Carson and begins at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2 at Global Prepatory Academy @ Riverside 44, 2033 Sugar Grove Avenue. They’ll provide food for attendees, but because seating is limited organizers want attendees to register. To register, click HERE.

Here’s another deadline you should know about today. The Indiana House Democrats‏ are offering internship opportunities and the applications are due today. Doing an internship at the statehouse may be a way for you to get work experience and share your talents. Contact Alexus Tucker at (317) 233-5248 or logon HERE for the details and application.

It’s not just Donald Trump that Indiana Governor Mike Pence is campaigning for. Pence is also on the stump for Indiana candidates as well. Pence spent part of his weekend rallying voters for Republican Eric Holcomb. The current governor says the man who wants to be governor will keep Indiana on the right path. Holcomb is running against Democrat John Gregg. The last Gravis poll had Gregg in the lead 42-to-38 percent.

Speaking of governor. The staff for the governor and first lady are getting in on some Halloween fun tonight. They are passing out candy at the Governor’s Residence. The staffers are dressing up in costume and will welcome trick-or-treaters for treats at the Meridian Street entrance from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The address is 4750 N. Meridian Street. They are welcoming you to stop by.

US-VOTE-DEMOCRATS-CLINTON

Hillary Clinton’s campaign will continue to do damage control after the FBI’s director announced that the investigation into her emails had been re-opened. The FBI is looking into emails that were reportedly discovered during an investigation into former Congressman Anthony Weiner, who is the estranged husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin. Weiner is accused of sending inappropriate photos of himself to a 15-year-old girl. Clinton will be campaigning today in the swing state of Ohio. Donald Trump will be in Michigan today, with events in Grand Rapids and Warren. The FBI finally has secured a warrant to proceed.

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is reacting to the the actions of the FBI’s leader. Reid said FBI Director James Comey may have broken the law by telling Congress that a probe into Clinton’s use of a private email server had been re-opened. In a letter to Comey, Reid wrote his “partisan actions” may have violated the Hatch Act, which bars FBI officials from influencing elections.

Two new swing state polls are showing different results from the race between Trump and Clinton. The NBC/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll of Florida voters shows the two presidential candidates in a dead heat, with Clinton getting support from 45-percent and Trump 44-percent.  In North Carolina Clinton enjoys a six point lead in the race for the White House, 47-percent to 41-percent.

Vice President Joe Biden says perceptions about gender are part of the reason voters see Hillary Clinton as more calculating. The Veep made an appearance on CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday morning. There, Biden compared this false perception to how First Lady Michelle Obama gets characterized as an “angry black woman” when she’s passionate about something.

Kansas City Chiefs v Indianapolis Colts

Colts fans are not happy today. The team likely isn’t either because they simply couldn’t stop backup quarterback Nick Foles as the Chiefs topped them 30-14 in their house, Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday. Colts ‘Q.B’ Andrew Luck was sacked six times while throwing for just 210 yards, two scores and one pick. Both Donte Moncrief and Frank Gore were on the receiving end of Indy’s two touchdowns of the matchup. The Colts dropped to 3-and-5 with the loss and have yet to win back-to-back games this season. Up next for them, the Colts will take on Green Bay on November 6.

2016 World Series - Cleveland Indians v. Chicago Cubs: Game Five

And, as unhappy as Colts fans are, flip it to ecstatic up Interstate-65 in Chicago as Cubs fans watched a win at home Sunday night. The Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians are making the most of their first World Series appearances in decades. The Cubs eked out that desperately needed win in Game Five to stay alive in the World Series. Now the series will return to Cleveland for Game Six Tuesday night. The Cubbies’ victory is the team’s first at Wrigley Field in more than 70 years. (The neighborhood of the ballpark, Wrigleyville, was ‘lit’ with fans going bonkers over the historic and season-stretching victory!) Cleveland still has the ‘reality check’ boosting the Tribe’s fans. Cleveland leads the series 3-2.

The owner of Ray Skillman Auto Group is recovering from a racing accident in Las Vegas. The NHRA says Ray Skillman and fellow driver Travis Gusso lost control of their cars as they passed the finish line during a qualifying race last Thursday. While Gusso could climb out of his crashed car, Skillman had to be extracted. Skillman’s daughter-in-law discussed Skillman’s injuries in a Facebook post. She said he suffered a broken back and rib, and had to have stitches on his hand.

Some rappers may have gotten a treat to know for certain that the Commander-In-Chief digs them. It’s no secret President Barack Obama is a fan of rap but now we know who some of his favorites are.  In a radio interview over the weekend, the outgoing ‘leader of the free world’ named Kanye West, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and Chance the Rapper as his current favorites. President Obama said “the young guys, Kendrick and Chance are doing amazing work,” and said “Jay Z’s still the king.” Take a look at Chance’s latest video shot on an i-Phone featuring his cousin, that’s currently blowing up social media:
