It’s back to work and school after the three-day holiday weekend on this warm Tuesday in Indy.
Indianapolis Metro Police are looking into another deadly shooting on the city’s east side. It happened just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Kealing Avenue. When police arrived on the scene, they found a man in 40s, according to various media reports, unresponsive. He died on the scene. Homicide investigators haven’t released many details about the victim or any suspect. Call Crime Stoppers if you know anything about this crime at (317) 262-TIPS.
The man running from the police on Indianapolis’ near-north side may have thought he found a large yard where he could lose the cops. Instead, he found more officers than anywhere else in the neighborhood, maybe more than several neighborhoods combined. IMPD commanders say the suspect tried to run across the yard at the Governor’s Mansion at 46th and Meridian Streets. Secret Service agents and Indiana State Troopers quickly arrested the man. FYI…The Secret Service now patrols the mansion as part of Governor Pence’s Vice Presidential candidate protection detail.
An Indianapolis Metro Police officer was having a bad morning this Tuesday morning. The officer, according to WTHR-TV, was involved in a crash around 6:30 a.m. on the city’s northwest side. The crash occurred at the intersection at 79th and Ditch Road closing it down in this morning’s rush. The officer and the driver of the other vehicle were both been taken to the hospital. Neither one were seriously injured.
Conservation officers are looking for answers after they found a 14-year-old boy shot dead in the woods. IMPD investigators are reclassifying a June death. The department now says a woman’s death is indeed being investigated as a homicide. Police found Jeannie Howard’s body on Indianapolis’ southeast side in late June. So far, there’s no explanation why police are reclassifying her death or if they have a suspect in mind.

Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia and Vice President Joe Biden continue supporting Hillary Clinton’s plan to better the economy. Kaine and Biden also campaigned for a female candidate there who’s running represent Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate. Bernie Sanders also hit the campaign trail for Clinton in his first solo event on her behalf. At a rally in New Hampshire, Sanders took a swing at Republican rival Trump, saying the main cornerstone of his campaign is bigotry. The Vermont senator says Trump is a pathological liar and changes his views quickly. Sanders says the decision America has to make is to either expand the middle class or move to an oligarchy.
