Hoosiers are everywhere…even in a nightclub when a gunman decides for whatever reason to open fire in a deadly attack. One of the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting was Darryl Roman Burt, II. Though the 29-year-old college financial aid officer lived in Jacksonville, Florida, he was a 2005 graduate of Plainfield High School right here in Central Indiana. Burt was one of 49 young people killed in Sunday’s deadly attack at Pulse. According to CBS 47 in Jacksonville, Burt, just completed his masters degree at DeVry University’s Keller Grad School of Management and was a member of the leadership training group the US Junior Chamber of Commerce—known as the Jaycees. His family, according to media reports, still resides here but are now in Orlando to make his funeral arrangements. The Jaycees have set up a Gofundme account to help his family with expenses. Here’s the link, in case you’d like to help.

Speaking of helping… Hoosiers are jumping in rolling up their sleeves in the face of the deadliest mass public shooting in modern U.S. history on this World Blood Donor Day.

The Indiana Blood Center is holding a blood drive today on Monument Circle until 2 p.m. this afternoon. Look for the bloodmobiles on the northwest quad of the Circle. The Colts organization is helping along with Papa John’s pizza and others. Donations got underway at 10 a.m. Then later…

Indy Pride, Incorporated is continuing the effort with a blood drive at their downtown office from 4 to 8 p.m. They are located at 429 Vermont Street.

The former boyfriend of the man arrested with a car full of guns near Los Angeles’ pride parade says he’s not surprised. Joseph Greeson told The Indianapolis Star he dated James Howell for a while. Greeson describes Howell as a sometime violent young man who got into trouble and liked guns. Howell is on probation for a gun charge here in Indiana, and is reportedly wanted in Louisville for speeding away from the police. Greeson says he doesn’t know why Howell was in California or had so many guns with him when police arrested him.

National…

Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are expected to sit down together today. USA Today reports Sanders will urge Clinton to fight for a progressive platform at next month’s Democratic National Convention, and in the White House if she’s elected President.  Clinton has won enough delegates to secure the nomination on the first ballot, but the Vermont Senator is staying in the race through today’s final primary in Washington, DC. It’s reported Sanders will then talk with Clinton about how he can help the former Secretary of State defeat likely Republican nominee Donald Trump.

Sports…

The Indiana Fever will look to snap a two-game skid when they take on the Minnesota Lynx tonight on the road. Tip is set for 7:00 p.m.

Weather…

Cloudy with occasional heavy rain this morning. Cloudy this afternoon. Thunder possible. Today’s High: near 90 degrees.
