Despite having a really hard week, Hillary Clinton managed to win three states tonight in the Democratic primaries as did Donald Trump in the GOP ones.

Clinton won big tonight taking Florida, North Carolina and Ohio, stopping Bernie Sanders, who seemed to be gaining ground in the Midwest. Meanwhile Trump took Florida, Illinois and North Carolina, however the GOP underdog John Kasich took his own state of Ohio, “[depriving] Trump of 66 delegates,”  CNN reported

Clinton said that winning these crucial states solidifies her claim “that she is her party’s only candidate who can win diverse states that will be pivotal in the November general election, CNN noted. “We are moving closer to securing the Democratic Party nomination and winning this election in November,” Clinton said in a victory speech in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Clinton continued to stressed that she continues to fight for the working man in this country.  “We are going to stand up for American workers and make sure no one takes advantage of us, not China, not Wall Street, not overpaid corporate executives,” she said.

On winning a majority of his states tonight, Trump called for unity saying, “This was an amazing evening. We have to bring our party together. We have to bring it together.”

Marco Rubio losing his own state of Florida and 99 crucial delegates, recently announced that he is suspending his presidential campaign, Think Progress reported. On losing the Sunshine State, he said he was disappointed with the outcome.

“It’s so sad that right after I cast my vote, he drops out. But I don’t have any regrets. He’ll do better in a different election. I still believe he has potential and I want him to run again, maybe after he gets more experience in the Senate or maybe as governor of Florida.”

In his concession speech, Rubio warned America of the route voting for Trump will take us.  “America is in the middle of a real political storm, a real tsunami and we should have seen this coming. While we are on the right side [but] this year, we will not be on the winning side, he said.

Yet surprisingly, Rubio praised Trump for conducting a “tough campaign. “He is tough. He is smart and he has got a great future, ” Rubio said.

We are still waiting to hear the outcomes of other states and will update when that information becomes available.
