Some like them buttery with syrup, others fruit-topped, and still some others filled with decadent ingredients like nuts or chocolate, regardless of your druthers, today is a good day to enjoy some pancakes. It’s National Pancake Day and the event will be celebrated here in Indy and throughout the country, especially at IHOP restaurants. The chain is giving away a free short stack for 12 hours, up to 7 p.m. this evening to support charity–local children’s hospitals. They’re calling this year’s event ‘Pancakes With A Purpose.” Patrons are asked to enjoy their pancakes and leave a generous donation in exchange. IHOP hopes to raise $3.5 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals this year. Here in Indianapolis, Riley Hospital for Children (an IU Health Network Hospital) is a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
