P

olice in Tallahassee, Fla. are investigating an alleged rape seen on a social media platform used by students at Florida A&M University.

The video was uploaded to the popular college-used app, Yeti, according to The New York Daily News. Yeti features videos and photos uploaded anonymously and is a place where students can share events and information on campus.

Students have complained in the past about those who violate the app by uploading drugs and nudity.

On Thursday, students claimed they saw footage of a man having sex with an unconscious woman. The Tallahassee Police Department quickly investigated, and with the help of Yeti employees, were able to locate and question the man who uploaded the video.

He hasn’t been charged with any crimes.

Police haven’t yet identified the people in the video. Students were quick to mention that local residents also use the app.

The New York Daily News reports:

While the video has not been linked to the university or its students, Florida A&M has “exhausted all resources” in trying to confirm the authenticity of the video, Florida A&M Director of Public Safety Terence Calloway said.

“The University is committed to the safety of our students, and in no way condones acts of violence on or off campus, nor in the communities we serve,” Calloway said in a statement.

Yeti also contributed all information they had regarding the incident to the police department’s Special Victims Unit. Officer David Northway, a spokesman for the department, said despite the dead ends they’ve run into, the investigation is still ongoing.
