Judge Rejects Request To Drop Charges Against Freddie Gray’s Killer Cops

Judge Barry Williams has thrown out motions from the defense in the Freddie Gray case. Williams is going forward with the range of charges facing the police officers involved with Gray’s death including false imprisonment, involuntary manslaughter and depraved heart murder. The judge has also decided to keep State Attorney Marilyn Mosby involved with the proceedings, saying that her marriage to Councilman Nick Mosby and her husband’s experience of working in a district that suffers from a disproportionate amount of violence doesn’t bias or impede Mosby’s judgement on the case. Peaceful Protests Gathered Outside Hearing For Freddie Gray Case

Activists and concerned citizens marched and chanted outside of the Baltimore courthouse in which the six police officers involved with Freddie Gray’s death were being handed charges for wrongful imprisonment and murder. Protestors were on the street voicing the fact that they worried the charges would be dropped; in the end, not only did the judge push forward with the charges, but he opted to try the cops separately. Judge Barry Williams stated that holding a trial for the officers as a group could leave to a ruling in their favor, reducing the chances that justice would be served in the case. Ex-Police Chief Who Killed An Unarmed Black Civilian Is Sentenced To House Arrest

Once the police chief of Eutawville, S.C., Richard Combs is now looking at a year of house detention for fatally shooting 54-year-old Bernard Bailey in 2011 after an argument over a traffic ticket. Combs plead guilty to “misconduct in office” for the murder. His excuse for killing Bailey over something so trivial: he didn’t have his taser and was afraid, so he had no other choice but to shoot Bailey twice in the chest. Obama’s presidency is coming to an end with flying colors. Right in time for the Senate’s recess, Democrats met with world leaders from Britain, China, France, Germany and Russia agreeing that they were going forward with the Iran Nuclear Deal as it stands, barring any further negotiations. Insiders say that despite pushback from Republicans in Congress, world leaders immediately involved with strategy unanimously agree that it is a good deal and believe that this is a significant step in providing opportunities for future negotiations and improving relationships between countries around the world.
