UPDATE: Florida Governor Rick Scott is now declaring a statewide state of emergency ahead of Tropical Storm Erika’s arrival. Erika is expected to pass over Jacksonville while moving toward Georgia on Wednesday. The governor’s declaration activates the National Guard, allowing them to pre-position equipment and supplies for any recovery mission that may be necessary.
