‘Maria’ Leaves “Sesame Street” After 45 Years

After 45 years of playing Maria on “Sesame Street,” Sonia Manzano is finally leaving the block. She announced via twitter that she plans to leave the children show. Sonia became playing Maria on PBS’s children’s TV show “Sesame Street” back in the 1970s where she also became one of the first Hispanics to be part of National TV.
