Marion “Suge” Knight is facing murder and attempted murder charges following a fatal hit-and-run that left one man dead and another injured in Compton, California last week. Los Angeles prosecutors officially filed the charges Monday. Knight is also charged with two counts of hit-and-run, as well as committing a serious and violent felony while out on bail for a separate robbery case. Because of his prior convictions, the district attorney also points out that under California’s “three strikes” law Knight could face life in prison if he’s convicted. Knight is being held without bail and will be arraigned on Tuesday.

Suge is accused of running down two men with his truck on Thursday afternoon. Authorities say the incident took place at a Compton burger joint following an altercation on the set of a shoot for the N.W.A. biopic, “Straight Outta Compton.” Suge’s attorneys deny the allegations, saying he was fleeing for his life when he struck the men.
