Authorities are continuing their investigation of a shocking discovery near Near Eagle Creek on this Monday morning…

IMPD is investigating a newborn baby found dead near Eagle Creek Park. Police say a hiker discovered the infant girl yesterday afternoon about 30-yards from the parking lot. She was wrapped in a blue sweatshirt with a logo that said “Aviation Maintenance Vincennes University-Indianapolis.” Police believe the baby was at least one-day old.

One person is dead following an attempted robbery on Indy’s east side. IMPD says two men tried to break into an apartment near Tenth Street and Oakland Avenue Sunday night, and one of them was shot by the tenant. The other ran away.  Police say the man who pulled the trigger is cooperating and no charges have been filed against him at this time.

A shooting and attempted robbery in Broad Ripple leaves a suspect behind bars. Investigators say an IMPD officer heard gunshots in the area of East 61st Street and Birchwood Avenue early Sunday morning. That officer then noticed a red car before being flagged down by a man who had been shot. While the officer was pursuing the red car, two people leaped out and fled. One of them was later found during a K-9 search of the area and has been arrested. The other has managed to escape capture at this time.

IMPD is investigating a hit-and-run that killed a man walking along Carson Avenue. Officials say Carl Duke was hit Saturday night near Bacon Street by a dark colored pickup truck. Police are looking for a 2004 to 2005 Ford Ranger with front end damage, especially to the grill. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers.

A passenger from Georgia injured in a Megabus crash on I-65 is now suing the company for negligence. According to a lawsuit filed last week, Dyrell Lee claims he was one of at least two-dozen people injured on December 20th when the driver lost control and rolled the bus onto its side near Seymour, Ind. The bus was en route to Atlanta from Chicago at the time of the accident.

The investigation into another plane vanishing with 162 people on-board continues on this Monday morning. An Indonesian official says the missing AirAsia plane is likely at the bottom of the sea. The National Search and Rescue Agency chief said today the hypothesis is based on the coordinates of the Airbus jet given to them and because the estimated crash position is in the sea. This latest jet disappeared early Sunday over the Java Sea. The fate of a Malaysian jetliner that vanished over the Indian Ocean in March after taking off from Kuala Lamur is still a mystery.

The autopsy results for an unarmed African American shot dead by police could ignite a new round of protests in Los Angeles and other cities. Ezell Ford’s autopsy results are due out today. He was shot and killed during a struggle back in August, when police say he tried grabbing an officer’s handgun. Several witnesses say Ford was face-down on the ground when he was shot, and his family claims he was mentally challenged and harmless.

Iran’s supreme leader is blasting the U.S. and Christians over race relations. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei started tweeting under the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter, saying followers of Jesus should join him in his fight against the arrogant and in his support for the oppressed. He also tweeted the arrogant people who claimed to follow Jesus took the place of the tyrants Christ fought against. He then tweeted #KillerIsrael, then tweeted a graphic of alleged U.S. crimes against Iran under the hashtag #AmericaInFiveWords.

Jeb Bush is the new Republican front runner for the 2016 presidential race. A new CNN/ORC poll gives Bush a clear lead over his closest competitor, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. The former Florida governor was picked by 23-percent of Republicans surveyed nationwide, with 13-percent choosing Christie.
