British actor Idris Elba is shutting down critics reeling over the suggestion that he play James Bond on screen. Responding to the suggestion made by Sony co-chair Amy Pascal in a leaked e-mail, conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh said Elba couldn’t play the fictional super spy because he’s black. Limbaugh said Bond is supposed to be “white and Scottish.” But Elba wittily offered up another descriptive Bond feature that few of his supporters would argue against. On Twitter Saturday, the actor wrote, “Isn’t 007 supposed to be handsome? Glad you think I’ve got a shot! Happy New Year people.”
