Chris Rock is denying reports that he turned down an offer to host the Oscars. Chris, Ellen DeGeneres and Julia Louis-Dreyfus were reportedly asked to host the awards show before organizers turned to Neil Patrick Harris. Rock tells “The Wrap” that he was never offered the hosting job. In fact, the veteran comic questioned why organizers would consider him over Neil Patrick Harris, who he calls an “amazing host.” Chris, who hosted the Oscars in 2005, adds that he’d “definitely” accept the hosting gig if offered.
The 2015 Oscars will air February 22nd on ABC.
