Grammy-Award winner singer, Macy Gray, shared with Oprah what was life like on the road for her. She mainly talked about her drug usage and how her band using drugs influenced her. Gray was discovered by Atlantic Records and then she debuted her first single “I Try” in 2000.
“My drug use started as a result of being on tour,” she says. “My crew was from England. All they did was smoke hash all day, and they knew where to get the good ecstasy. So, you start playing with stuff, and then, suddenly, it’s like a crutch.”
Macy Gray had gotten a lot of recognition after her hit single and then she got money which she explains she never had before in the interview below.
