Police believe Logan Thompson, 22, was checking his cell phone when he swerved off the road, struck the cable barrier in the median, then bounced back onto the interstate where he was then hit by a double-decker Megabus en route to Chicago from Atlanta with a stop here in Indy. The Megabus then rolled over after the crash. That same cable barrier caught the bus while it was down on its side and is being praised for saving lives.

A second Dallas healthcare worker is testing positive for Ebola. A Texas Department of State Health Services spokesperson says the Dallas hospital worker reported a fever on Tuesday and was immediately isolated. This worker also cared for Ebola patient Thomas Duncan who died last week. Earlier this week, reps from a nurses’ union, National Nurses United, sounded the alarm about increased training and equipment to keep themselves safe from Ebola. They said, hospitals need to acknowledge they’re not prepared.

Nurses on staff at that Dallas hospital that treated Thomas Duncan have also spoken specifically about what was going on during Duncan’s visits there. They have described unsafe and chaotic conditions with regard to his treatment. Through a national nurses’ union, some of the nurses at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas said Duncan was left for several hours with other patients and was not in isolation the second time he came to the hospital.

The news of now a second worker at that hospital testing positive for Ebola comes on the heels of a big donation to fight this deadly virus. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife are giving $25 Million to the Centers for Disease Control Foundation to fight Ebola. Zuckerberg says grants such as this help frontline responders in their work. He stresses that Ebola needs to brought under control before it turns into another global health crisis like HIV or polio.
