According to Billboard.com, Isaac Hayes the Third says he has been combing through the soul legend’s archives, and is “just in awe of the organization and the quality in which he kept things.” Isaac explains that he has enough material to issue a tribute album as well as a collection of previously unreleased recordings. He says he also intends to revive his dad’s Hot Buttered Soul Label, and issue albums Hayes produced for others back in the ’70’s but was never able to release.
Isaac adds the he’s open to other licensing opportunities as well. He says he has no timetable for any project, explaining that he’s interested in doing things right, not quickly.
Issac Hayes passed away of a stroke on August 10th, 2008, just ten days before his 66th birthday.
