More than a million people in the United States are living with HIV and one in five do not know they are infected, according to the CDC. Because of this, it’s time to know your status. The only way to do that is to “Take the Test & Take Control.” Taking the HIV Test gives you the knowledge  you need to empower your decisions and your life.  June 27 is National HIV Testing Day. Here in Indianapolis, free HIV testing is available through events planned by health pros and HIV prevention experts that are waiting to serve your needs.

  • A  local health coalition that includes the Indiana State Department of Health, Marion County Public Health Department Outreach Center, the Indianapolis Urban League, Brothers United, Bellflower and more are offering free testing services at a live entertainment event from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the Mosaic Event Hall, 3740 North Lafayette Road. For more info call 317-693-7649.
  • Several Walgreens locations are offering free testing Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.  and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The locations include Kessler Boulevard North, East Washington Street, North Shadeland Avenue, North Meridian Street at 16th Street, West 86th Street and Massachusetts Avenue.  To check Walgreens web for exact addresses, click HERE.
