Carb Day Today at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway; Parade Saturday
The annual Carb Day event gets underway on the Friday before the Indy 500 and features a host of activities, including a vintage car exhibition, Indy 500 practice, a pit stop challenge and Carb Day concerts. Events run until 6 p.m. at the track. Mario Andretti will be honored at Saturday’s Legends Day and Ed Carpenter will be on the pole for Sunday’s 98th running of the race. Also on Saturday the IPL 500 Festival Parade flows through downtown celebrating and showcasing the race. Indiana native Josh Kaufman, who was just crowned the champion on NBC’s talent competition show “The Voice” has been added as the grand marshal of the parade. Kaufman won on Team Usher. The parade steps off at Noon.
