“Scandal” might have a little competition…

A new series called “Empire” is set to air and the first sneak peek looks amazing. Created by The Butler writer Lee Daniels, the FOX scripted series is about a hip hop music mogul, played by Terrance Howard, who has three years to live. He goes through lots of juicy, family drama while trying to make his music business an empire.

Taraji P. Henson plays his estranged wife and sassy ex-business partner. It’s been 10 years since fans saw their chemistry in Hustle and Flow. Gabourey Sidibe, Jussie Smollett, Malik Yoba and Macy Gray also star int he series. Music mogul Timbaland is slated to produce original music for the new show.
