An arrest has been made in the murder of a father-to-be out on his morning walk. A teenager is now behind bars, accused of killing Nathan Trapuzzano in the early morning hours of April 1st on West 16th Street near a tire shop and Club Venus. IMPD arrested Simeon Adams, 16, on Tuesday in connection with Trapuzzano’s murder. Adams is being held at the Juvenile Center while he’s recovering from a gunshot wound he received later the same day as Trapuzzano’s murder in an incident at 1141 West 35th Street. Investigators say Adams is also facing charges for a shooting on March 30th in the 2900 block of North Dr. Marting L. King Jr Street. IMPD Chief Rick Hite said Adams was identified by “distinctive clothing” seen on surveillance video and by several witnesses.

Also, a 60-year-old man is under arrest for murdering a woman and stuffing her body in a wooden chest. You may remember this disturbing murder case from last month. Jazmine Trammell, 24, was stabbed to death and her body was found stuffed in a Lane Chest and left by a dumpster in the Maison Gardens Apartments and now Lawrence Police say they’ve arrested James Wade. Wade is preliminarily charged with murder but official charges are coming from the Marion County Prosecutor’s office.
