Police say the weekend crash that injured a pregnant driver and killed her passenger was caused by an off-duty police officer. James Foutch, who is an officer with the Edgewood Police Department has been arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after he rear-ended Rebecca Marie Sperry on State Road 32. Sperry was nine-months-pregnant at the time of the deadly collision. According to family friends, they say the man killed was Sperry’s husband. The crash triggered her to go into labor. According to media reports, the baby was delivered by C-section and is also getting treatment.
