MIAMI (RNN) – Singer Justin Bieber left a holding facility, got into a black SUV and rode away as several fans cheered him on Thursday, ending his day spent in the custody of law enforcement.
An hour before, he appeared for a hearing in a Dade County courtroom wearing red jail attire. Judge Joseph Farina accepted the bond amount of $2,500 for Bieber, 19.
The man accused of drag racing with the pop star, the singer Khalil, also appeared in court. His bond was set at $1,000 for a DUI charge.
Miami Beach Police Chief Raymond Martinez said a yellow Lamborghini and red Ferrari were stopped by police at 4:11 a.m. because they were drag racing. He said Bieber, who allegedly drove the Lamborghini, told officers he drank alcohol, smoked marijuana and took prescription medication before driving.
