It looks like critics who wanted moviegoers to boycott Tyler Perry and Lionsgate’s “A Madea Christmas” couldn’t stop the film from being a success. It took over the number three spot in the box office sales this weekend. The film, starring Tyler Perry (of course) along with Anna Maria Horsford and Tika Sumpter, has brought in a total of $16.2 million so far, trailing behind Warner Bros. “Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” and “Frozen” which made a whopping $73.7 million and $22.2 million respectively.

In “A Madea Christmas” your favorite grandma Madea goes country after her friend convinces her to tag along while she goes to visit her daughter in the country. Take a look at the extended trailer below:
