The preachers portrayed in Oxygen’s new reality show, “Preachers of LA,” are not the only men of faith being questioned for their extravagant lifestyles. Meet, Germany’s “Bling Bishop” Franz-Peter Tebartz-Van.
Tebartz-Van has been scrutinized for his lavish spending. His home is estimated worth 40 million with recent renovations of walking-closets worth 475,000, a euro bath tube worth 20,000 and a heated chapel within the residence.
Just this past Sunday he flew to Rom to explain his spending to Pope Francis.
Critic have expressed that instead of flaunting their wealth, these men of faith would be better served by create programs that will empower, assist those within their congregation that are in need, and develop businesses that will uplift the economic structure of their community?
